Vietnam possesses a long and complex history that has deeply shaped a culture rooted in collective memory, resilience and the continuity of tradition. Its cultural landscape encompasses ritual practices, musical forms and folk arts that serves as living vessels of historical knowledge and social values, carrying memories from one generation to the next.
Among its most distinctive traditions is water puppetry, a unique form of Vietnamese folk theatre in which wooden figures move across the surface of water, accompanied by traditional music, singing and storytelling. More than a performance, water puppetry preserves fragments of Vietnam’s cultural memory, animating stories, customs and the rhythms of traditional life.
