A great event, on the nostalgic paths of the STRADE BIANCHE, alongside the valiant Eroici riders, that extolls the grandeur of endurance exhibited by the Eroici.
Giancarlo Brocci, the creator of Eroica, encourages people to rediscover the beauty of effort and the thrill of conquest. In 1997, 92 visionary cyclists realized the transcendence for remembrance, connection, and evolution. Taking steps beyond the ordinary, they passed on their intention like a relay baton to those ready to take it up.
Eroica draws its inspiration from classical cycling, black-and-white published photos from the early 1900s, and the heroic cycling duel in the 1940 Giro d’Italia between Gino Bartali and Fausto Coppi, a day before Mussolini declared war. Recognized by the Yad Vashem Foundation for his efforts to help people during World War II, Gino Bartali (1914-2000) was justly acknowledged among nations.
Starting and finishing in the iconic Gaiole in Chianti of Tuscany, the Eroici riders, citizens of Life, extraordinary individuals, appear from different directions to realize the Vision! The journey begins with a touch, a smile, a wish. You are absorbed by the sense of the scenery, which takes on a metaphysical dimension. The flow of routes leads to exciting medieval villages, fairy-tale farmhouses, mysterious castles, fragrant vineyards, fields with countless healing herbs, and stations of flavors, celebration, brief therapy, and empowerment.
